Hello! I’m Talita
PhD Researcher — Agronomist
Hello, my name is Talita Ferreira, I am an agronomist with specialization in soils, I work directly in the area of biology with a focus on invertebrate organisms. I am currently a postdoc fellow in the department of soil and agricultural engineering (Federal University of Paraná – Brazil). My doctoral research was focused on unravelling the mystery of ADEs by simulating these anthropic soils in a series of tests done in the laboratory and greenhouse. We found a deep connection between the Pontoscolex corethrurus earthworms and the fertile characteristics of Amazonian soils, however the results are only the “tip of the iceberg”. I am currently searching for answers, using functional genomic tools in order to determine the biological functions that interact with the fertility of these soils, with a specific focus on the interface of earthworms, microbiomes and plants. I am also interested in terrestrial ecotoxicological studies that allow us to evaluate and understand the mechanisms of action of contaminants in living beings that inhabit the soil, studies carried out during the master’s degree.
