Hello! I’m André Soares

BSc Undergraduate Student

Hello, my name is André Soares. I am from Coimbra (Portugal) and I am finishing my Biology Bachelor’s  degree at University of Coimbra. My main interests reside in the field of Genetics and Molecular Biology. My course and the outside of university experience has allowed me to develop important lab skills.

Using the techniques I have learned along the way of my academic journey so far, I am currently working on the  “Trough the path of The Giant: The role of tortoise corridors for earthworm invasion in Galapagos and other factors” project with Luís Cunha and Marta Novo, where we isolate DNA and assess it from each individual earthworm for goals such as the understanding environmental factors shaping exotic earthworm communities and biogeographical limits of invasive earthworms.
